Introduction
The Networking page allows you to monitor and configure the switches in your network.
Device Details
To view switch details;
- Log on to your account
- Navigate to Networking
- Expand the switch (when multiple switches in the site)
- From here you can;
- Manage switch Ports (Port Configuration Section below)
- View the Device details
- MAC address of the switch
- Switch name
- Serial Number of the Switch
- Number of Online ports
- The software version of the switch
- Click Reboot to reboot the switch
- Click Blink LED to flash the LED to identify the switch onsite
Ports
How to use Search and Legends
To search switch ports in;
- Log on to your account
- Navigate to Networking
- Search port by port name
OR - Click each Legend to filter ports
Connected ports
To view details of the connected ports;
- Log on to your account
- Navigate to Networking
- Click on any Connected/green ports
- Scroll down on the port details window
- DUPLEX MODE
- LINK SPEED
- POWER CONSUMPTION (last one hour)
- Port Configuration details (Trunk/Access, VLANs)
- Details of the connected device on that port (Name/IP address of the device)
Locked ports
Once you click on the selected port, If you see a (padlock) icon visible next to the port name, this means the port has been locked by your service provider and you will not be able to make updates to it. Please contact your service provider if you think some attributes need to be updated.
Port Configuration
To configure port(s) of a switch;
- Log on to your account
- Navigate to Networking
- Select the port (Search by port name or by clicking on the port) on the port details window
- Click to edit the Port name
- Enable/Disable port
- Enable/disable PoE
- Click to change port type
Access- Select Access Port - access mode ports pass traffic for only one VLAN
- Click Next
- Select/Type VLAN ID (value between 1 - 4094)
- Select/Type Voice VLAN ID (optional)
- Click Save
Note: port changes can cause disruption in your network. If you are unsure about the correct configuration for this port please contact your network administrator or service provider.
Trunk
- Select Trunk Port - trunk mode ports pass traffic on multiple VLANs
- Click Next
- Select/Type Native VLAN ID (value between 1 - 4094)
- Select All OR Selected VLANs and enter the VLAN ID or Range (e.g. 10, 12, 60-100)
- Click Save
Note: port changes can cause disruption in your network. If you are unsure about the correct configuration for this port please contact your network administrator or service provider.
- Cycle port - Disable and re-enable the port
Note: PoE powered devices will be temporarily powered down
