Introduction

Encapto Portals are the screens that appear on an end user device to enable web-authentication to a Wi-Fi network. On most devices, this portal will pop up automatically on connection to a network. On others, it will appear when an end user opens a browser and attempts to access the internet.

Encapto multilingual portals let admins to design portal in multiple languages and let the end users to choose the portal language through a language selector box. Please contact sales via sales@encapto.com to add additional languages for portals.

Note: Portal will detect the default language of the browser and display the correct language if that language is available, if not it'll always use the default language which is English in most cases.

Add language selector to a portal design

Language selector will allow end users to choose different languages from the portal, see Preview multilingual portal below.

To add a language selector to your portal design, log on to Encapto Wi-Fi Clouddeck.

1. Click Portals under VISITOR JOURNEYS.
2. Select the relevant portal (not shown) or create new.
3. Navigate to Designs tab.
4. Select the portal design form the DESIGNS list.
   
   
5. In the selected portal Design, navigate to Editor tab.
6. Click and Edit the section to add the Language selector for end user, we recommend to add it to a section which is at the top of the portal.
   
   
7. In the editor, add the language selector to any position of the portal (based on the design) by clicking the  button.
8. Click Save.
   
   Note: The language selector will not be visible when there is only one language in this portal.
   
   

Duplicate/Create a portal design

Duplicate a portal design in different language 

To create a same portal design in another language, you can use duplicate feature. To duplicate a current design, log on to Encapto Wi-Fi Clouddeck.

1. Click Back from the portal editor (from above step.) or
2. Click Portals under VISITOR JOURNEYS.
3. Select the relevant portal (not shown).
4. Navigate to Designs tab.
5. Select the existing portal design (English) form the DESIGNS list.
6. Click Duplicate button to duplicate the portal. 
   
   
7. Select the language from the drop down list.
   
   Note: English is the default language, contact sales (sales@encapto.com) if you would like additional languages made available to your clouddeck account.
   
   
8. Click Save.
9. Click on the newly created portal design from the portal designs list, and navigate to Editor.
10. In the WYSIWYG editor, edit the sections and translate text manually.
    
    

Create a portal design in different language 

Alternatively you can create a new portal design and design from scratch.

1. In the portal Designs tab.
2. Click +Create to create new portal design.
3. Select the Portal language.
   
   Note: You won't be able to select the language if a portal design already exist in that language (one design per language).
   
   
4. Choose a Design type/template.
5. Click Create and edit the portal as above step 9-10.
   
   

Preview the multilingual portal

To preview the Portal, log on to Encapto Wi-Fi Clouddeck.

1. Click Portals under VISITOR JOURNEYS.
2. Select the relevant portal (not shown).
3. Navigate to Designs tab.
4. Click Preview button to preview the portal (this will open a new tab).
   
   
5. End users will see the language selector as below in the portal.
